30 Days to Blog Paws

Marylin: Wowzerz just one month until wez get to see all of our friends and make some new ones at Blog Paws in Nashville, TN.
Marcuz: Yep and while wez haven’t sold enough Music City Ferrets to really do the contests wez wanted wez have decided to post the Scavenger list for the those that have bought them.
Marylin: Does that mean wez can change the rules a little bit?
Marcuz: Yepz it is our contest. The first change is that unless wez sell more Music City Ferrets there will be no piccy contest. The second change is that all of those that have bought a Music City Ferret and are having them hand delivered can participate in the Scavenger hunt. So while wez wanted to have three shipped ferrets before starting this contest wez do have enough to start the contest. The original rules were:
1. You have to have a mobile hidey hole. Be creative as each ferret has his or her own space to hide stuff in.
2. Do take pictures of the found items but only post a portion of the found item to make others wonder what the item could be. NO DESCRIPTIONS! just the photo *chitters*
3.Your ferret MUST travel with you and may be in the photos
4. Have fun if it isn’t fun then why doz it?
The hooman who has collected all or most of the items will be eligible for the prize.
Each hidey hole will be inspected by Hooman and ourselves to determine the winner at Blog Paws.

Marylin: The Changes are to number 3 Your Ferret MUST travel with you if it has been shipped other wise you just need to follow rule #2 exactly.
So what is a Music City Ferret? This is a Music City Ferret Nashvilleferrets
Each one is numbered and there will only be 30 made. Each ferret cost $20 with a shipping fee of $6 US or $25 International. For those that are hand delivered there will be no shipping cost.
To get your ferret just drop Hooman an email with Nashville Ferret in the subject line toz enlightenedferret@hotmail.com and she willz get back to youz on howz toz order one.
Orders will be taken until May 15 to make sure your ferret arrives in time for the fun. Date is subject to change.
Marcuz: Soz to those that already have a ferret the scavenger hunt will begin. Remember the first thing is a photo of your mobile Hidey hole. It can be no bigger than a large shopping bag but it does not have to be a shopping bag. This just gives youz an idea of the size.
Remember the idea is to think like a ferret.

Leading Up to Blog Paws: Packing

HPIM2897 Blog Paws is just a few days away and there is still so much to do. The first thing is to get started packing.

For those of us bringing our pets it isn’t as simple as one might think. For those flying it requires a health certificate from the pet’s vet then there is arranging for the pet to fly. Most airlines have a weight and number of pets in the cabin limit.

Ferrets are not allowed in the cabin but can be loaded as cargo, which is absurd, but since we will be driving it doesn’t matter this year.

Roomie and her two rescues, Ariel and newly adopted Z will be coming with us to her very first Blog Paws. So instead of packing for just Manny, Marcuz, and Marylin I am having to add in the two doggies.

Packing is a chore no matter the reason but when you have ferrets, it can be even a bigger chore unless you have a good system in place.

For me that is a list of what needs to be packed and in what suitcase, computer bag, and travel bag.

It shouldn’t be surprising that the ferret’s suitcase has a much longer list than mine but then I only need my clothes, a few grooming supplies as I don’t wear makeup. Now the tech bag is a bit fuller with having my notebook puter, cords, camera, battery charger, phone, extra battery, and charger.

But the list hasn’t changed much for the ferrets with only a few extras added because of Marylin and my list is just to make sure I don’t forget to pack pants, both sets of shoes, or any of my tech that will be needed at Blog Paws.

Don’t forget we all need our business cards. The fur kids have their traveling page cards and I’ll have my blog cards.

Soon we will be blogging from Tysons Corner, VA

Have a Chittering Good Day,

Jo

Blog Paws Experience pt I

I didn’t think I could feel the same excitement that I did when I went to the very first Blog Paws in Columbus, OH. Boy was I wrong!

Getting to meet new people and reconnect with other has been great. I am already a little hoarse from talking about Manny and Marcuz but that is fine with me as it helps me with my public speaking skills and calming my nerves about doing so.

It has been a roller coast ride with trying to find out if Snotface Critter would be here or not due to a policy change with Frontier Airlines that customer service overlooked when his hooman booked the flight in July directly with them.

So today is the first day of Blog Paws.

Registration was easy and the swag bag was filled with some awesome goodies ranging from treats to toys and a gift card to pet smart. HPIM2898

Then the boys and I checked out the pet park we had free roam of the whole room. Manny decided that the dog bed was the best ferret bed.

HPIM2901

I wonder how many ferrets could fit into that size dog bed?

Came back to the room to let myself catch my thoughts and let my boys have some time to themselves.

We will be headed back down to the main floor and more people.

Have a Chittering Great Day,

Jo

P.S. here is a video of Marcuz enjoying one of the toys from Hartz®

Speaking in Public

I would have never guessed that two small furry little creatures would help me learn how to have conversations with people I just met. I am for the most part a shy individual that is until it comes to my ferrets then I am a chatterbox.

It didn’t hit home until today that I can give speeches without panicking like I did in speech class. I have been taking my boys on outings for a while now to get them used to traveling in a vehicle and today’s adventure included the local Laundromat. I left them in their carrier while I put my small load of pet laundry into the washing machine and then it was time for them to wander around on their leashes.

Our Laundromat has a four bay car wash attached to it so of course the boys had to go see what was in each of the bays. Walking by another car we heard a small voice scream. “Looky at those doggies. Doggies come here please.”

Neither parent wanted us to approach and told the young boy “Those aren’t doggies. We don’t know what they are. They look mean.” Needless to say we made a point to stay away from them while they were finishing their laundry.

I finished up our own laundry and put it in the car and as I was getting ready to pick up my boys from the sidewalk two men got out and started cooing over my boys.

Alan and Mark were very interested in James and Manny and asked a lot of questions. Alan was from Texas and Mark from Tennessee and enjoyed James and Manny’s attention for the moment or two they had it.

Mark finally had to go get his camera because he couldn’t believe how cute ferrets were. Took a Greenie each for them to pose for the camera.

Alan knew a little about them that made it nice to talk to someone about them. I gave them my business card and hopefully they will stop by our little blog and say Hi.

I can only hope that I Enlightened Alan and Mark a little more about ferrets and what these cute little fur balls are like.

P.S. We are going to Bark World Expo August 20-22. This time James and Manny will be with me.

BlogPaws: The Card collection

Not only have I learned some neat stuff I am getting a lovely card collection to match. PICT0113 PICT0114 I’ll post links to all the cards later as I am blogging on the fly.

So many awesome opportunities have come up for me along with meeting so many nice people.

Missed the second session but believe I was meant to met a web designer who helped me figure out some of the issues I am having on blogger.

Gotta go have to finish packing up the room for our checkout time.
